I have been working for a week manufacturing a set of micropul tiles. This involved milling various patterns onto them. These are abstract designs: circles and crosses and such.
The patterns are carefully designed to be completely color-independent. Monochromatic painting would work, but I like colorful things, so I planned to use 3 colors to paint the various patterns onto the bright white tiles.
But once I had milled the patterns (o, the hours!), the set was immediately usable--no painting required--so I started using it. Of course it works.
The white tiles with deep grooves (2mm deep!) have a clean, modern look. But I really have a soft spot for brightly colored toys and games. And I have the paint ready to go.
Paint? Or don't paint?
