Thread: Board Game Art and Graphic Design:: Map Concepts for Post Apocalypse Game

Hi everyone.

I'm busy working on my new board game - it's a strategic, post-apocalyptic worker placement game (I know - sounds insane, but at least it's not another zombie game ). The main issue is, that now I'd like to put together a decent looking prototype and I have zero illustration ability. shake

My idea was this (and this is what I'm looking for feedback on): instead of a traditional map for a board - have a very weathered looking hand drawn map of all the locations, complete with aged look, perhaps with lots of newspaper clippings paperclipped around the edges giving flavour text about the apcoalypse, handwritten notes about some of the locations (i.e. Danger - lots of x in this area), coffee stains, blood spots etc etc. whistle

I feel that this could overcome my issue with lacking any ability as an artist (I'm fairly competent in Photoshop) and may also add theme and flavour to the experience.

What I'm looking for, I suppose, is feedback. Do you think this could work? Do you have any ideas/suggestions? Any examples that you think may be of benefit? Thanks
